The work of artists with disabilities can go under a wide variety of labels, from art brut or outsider art to self-taught or naïve art, but rarely are the artists themselves consulted about how their work ought to be described.A free panel discussion in Corvallis next week attempts to remedy that oversight by inviting artists with disabilities to talk about the issue. Artists Kurt Fisk and Perry Johnson are scheduled to speak as part of a panel discussion titled “InAUDIBLE” at noon Monday at the Majestic Theatre, 115 S.W. Second St.
Also speaking will be art therapist Emily Frankie; Mickey Stellavato, project manager for the Oregon State Hospital Museum Story Project; and Jamie Walsh, program coordinator for the Oregon Supported Living Program Arts and Culture Program.

A few photos from our second self portrait workshop... with thanks to Kaitlyn Wittig, The Corvallis Art Center, The Benton County Cultural Commission and of course ArtWorks (CEI)
Arc's Art Focus program has been encouraging participating artists to create self portraits, some of which may be included in The Arts Center exhibit "I AM" which opens in April and is a part of invisible.
